About Longley Way

Longley Way Elementary is a very special place where we highly value the “community feel”  we have on our campus and making a difference in the lives of all our students.  Leadership is a core value at Longley Way and we strive to empower all our students to see themselves as leaders in all they do both at school and home.

We also put great emphasis on preparing our students to be 21st Century learners through collaboration, respecting differences, and going deeper in their thinking.  We are an AVID Elementary and also in the beginning stages of Leader in Me, both of which offer a backbone for how we run our school.

We invite you to become an active member of the Longley Way Community.  Parent involvement is key to our success and this can be done in a myriad of ways.  We ask that you consider serving at Longley Way either in a small or large capacity.  Among the many ways to get involved are:  volunteer in your child’s classroom, help with a PTA Family Fun Night, attend a field trip, come to a PTA meeting, help in the workroom, volunteer with a fundraiser, get involved with a PTA committee, serve as a room parent, serve on School Site Council, serve on the PTA Executive Board, join the LW garden committee.

Kids' Heart Challenge Feb. 28

We will be kicking off the Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart), which will be happening on February 28. Our involvement with this program is to promote healthy lifestyles with our students and contribute to the American Heart Association, which we have done the past two years. This is a great way for us to do something for others and support other students in need of medical support. The Kids Heart Challenge is not a fundraiser for Longley Way as all proceeds go to American Heart Association.
